Started in 2010, Les Canthares tastings bring together wine-lovers to exchange ideas, explore oenology and unravel some of the secrets of fine wine.

Our Head Sommelier Geraud Tournier runs these exclusives evenings to explore the subtle harmonies that exist between food and wine, for the pleasure of every gourmand.

2017 Programme

Champagne Pierre Trichet

Pierre Trichet’s vineyards are located in the heart of the mountain of Reims on the communes of Trois-Puits, Montbré and Cormontreuil. For three generations his family have produced Premier Cru Champagne.

Pierre Trichet’s vineyard is dominantly Pinot Meunier but also Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the results are ten champagne cuvées of rich character, both single grape or blends, matured in eight metre deep chalk cellars. The champagnes have evocative names like: Héritage (a pure chardonnay fine and chiseled) or the famous 1333 one of the rare cuvées in pure Meunier.

The vineyard’s wide range of wines produces champagnes with strong identities so anticipate a pairing that to surprise the palate.

La Paulée de Saint-Martin

Historically a communal banquet for growers and their workers La Paulée was revived in 1900s Burgundy.

This traditional meal arranged at the end of the harvest season invites lovers of wine and food, grape pickers and wine makers, to come together and share a favourite bottle of wine.

La Paulée de Saint-Martin is a memorable evening of friendliness and conviviality with a special festive atmosphere.
