Outside the village of Vence and its historical narrow streets protected by the 13th century ramparts, lies the famous Chapelle du Rosaire (chapel of the rosary) decorated by Matisse.

A land of inspiration for a number of artists who came here to unwind close to the radiant nature, St Paul, a bustling Provencal village was the refuge favoured by the greatest modern painters. Chagall, Braque, Miró came to illustrate this famous light to which the Maeght foundation today provides a perfect testament.
